St. Boniface Altar Society

Minutes from September 10, 2025

The St. Boniface Altar Society meeting was held on Monday, September 10, 2025 with 11 members present. The meeting opened with prayer.                                                                                           Money for Penny and a Prayer was collected.

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Julie Borer made a motion to approve the minutes and Sam Stoltz seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

Sam Stoltz gave the treasure’s report.

Verona Henn made a motion to accept the treasure report; Connie Dvorak seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Old Business:

  1. It was discussed that we will book the Rectory for one couple on a case-by-case bases.
  2. President Getzfred met with the maintenance committee and went over the repairs being made around the parish grounds.
  3. The funeral luncheon for Randy Henn – 300/ served 200. Circles 3 & 4 provided salads and desserts.
  4. OACCW state convention is Monday, September 15 in Hartington, NE If anyone is still interested in going, Betty was sure you could still register. She is going to leave at 7:15 if anyone needs a ride. She also mentioned that Linda Kerkman is going to receive an award.
  5. President Getzfred again reviewed our leadership resolution, spiritual resolution, and out service resolution. She encouraged everyone to try to attend a daily mass at least one day a week

New Business:

  1. Emily Borer went over food that will be needed for our Thanksgiving Bazaar.                                 Each Circle will need to provide 180 pieces of dessert (pies 6-7 pieces and 9X13 desserts 15 pieces) and each circle will need 7 turkeys.  Circle leaders will need to contact people the second week in October.
  2. Verona Henn volunteered to help welcome new members to St. Boniface Parish and help them get the correct forms for registration.
  3. President Getzfred is going to have an announcement put in the weekly bulletin to see if we could get some volunteers (men or women) for a landscaping committee.
  4. At one of our meetings after our Thanksgiving Bazaar we will need to update the By-Laws for our Altar Society and check over our list of members.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Michelle Reicks and seconded by Deb Tarnish.  The meeting closed with a prayer.

The St. Boniface Altar Society meeting was held on Monday, October 13, 2025 with 12 members present. The meeting opened with prayer.                                                                                           Money for Penny and a Prayer was collected.

Minutes from the last meeting were read. Deb Tarnish made a motion to approve the minutes and Nicole Starman seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

Sam also stated Altar Society has a credit of about $500.00 at Dean’s Market and the priests have a credit of about $1200.00.

Old Business:

  1. A discussion was held about the parish insurance. Michele Reicks made a motion that Altar Society give a donation of $4,500.00 this year, Lynelle Morgan seconded the motion.  Motion passed.
  2. A meeting will be held in January to decided how to welcome new members to our parish. Kari Schindler is working on putting a basket together to be given to new members of St. Boniface Parish.
  3. Letters were sent out about donations for the Thanksgiving Bazaar. President Getzfred went over information that was in the letter. Betty also asked if anyone has extra cool whip containers or ice cream buckets with lids to be used for leftovers at the bazaar bring them to the storage room in the basement of the church.
  4. President Getzfred thanked circle 1 for doing some landscape work as a charity around the church and rectory.

New Business:

  1. It was decided that the Altar Society will purchase 12 bibles to be given to students receiving the sacrament of confirmed from St. Boniface Church. A check will be sent to the parish office for $240.00.
  2. Circle 2 will provide 5 dozen cookies for the reception following confirmation. Cookies need to be at the Raeville Hall by 1:30 on October 19th.
  3. President Getzfred received notification the Denise did her final cleaning of the convent on September 28. It was decided that the circles will clean as a charity 2-3 times a year.
  4. The boiler in the Rectory many need some work. President Getzfred will look into options and bids for replacing it.

A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Nicole Starman and seconded by Sam Stoltz.  The meeting closed with a prayer.
