Fr. John Norman was ordained a priest in June of 2013 and assigned to serve as pastor at St. Peter’s in Ewing, St. Theresa’s in Clearwater, and Rural St. John’s since August of 2017.
Although he was born in Schenectady, NY, Fr. John grew up at St. Columbkille Parish in Papillion, NE. He attended St. Columbkille Grade School and graduated from Papillion La Vista High School in 2005.
Fr. John joined seminary after high school, attending the St. John Vianney College Seminary program at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy and Catholic Studies.
He went to graduate school at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, attending the Pontifical Gregorian University where he completed his graduate courses in Theology, with a concentration on faith and culture.
As a seminarian, he had summer assignments at St. Patrick’s in O’Neill (2008), St. Leo’s in Omaha (2011), and St. Gerald’s in Ralston (2012). After his priestly ordination, he served for the summer of 2013 at Mary Our Queen parish in Omaha before returning to school, from 2014-2016 at Christ the King Parish in Omaha, and from 2016-2017 at St. Patrick’s in Elkhorn. Fr. John was appointed in 2017 as pastor to St. Peter de Alcantara in Ewing, St. Theresa’s in Clearwater, and St. John the Baptist in Deloit Township. Fr. John feels excited and blessed for the opportunity to live his priesthood here.
